Breakdancing

It’s ironic that many are critical of breakdancing being included in the Olympics, especially considering the rich tradition of artistic competition in the Ancient Olympic Games. Those early celebrations celebrated not just athleticism but also cultural expression through dance, music, and poetry, including contests among heralds. (And yes, they did compete naked, but I don’t want my GIF to be rated “R.”)

As we embrace the diverse forms of human creativity today, let’s appreciate these evolving art forms as they join the Olympic stage.
